Early education for three-year-olds

3-K for All (3-K) | NYC Department of Education

1. How it Works

3-K for All provides free, full-day, high-quality early childhood education for three-year-olds. The City is rolling out universal 3-K for All so every family can access a 3-K seat by September 2023. This builds on committing to bring 3-K to every NYC district by fall 2021.

  • Application for the 2021-2022 school year is closed. If you missed the deadline to apply, it is not too late to participate in admissions for Fall 2021.
  • If you have a child born in 2018, you can add them to waitlists at 3-K programs of your interest in MySchools or by contacting programs directly.

2. Determine your eligibility

NYC families who have a child born in 2018 can apply to 3-K for All for the 2021-22 school year.

Take a short survey to see if you might be eligible for this or 30 other programs.
