Updated Free meals for New Yorkers this summer

1. How it Works

This summer, any New Yorker can get free “grab & go” meals across the city starting June 28th, 2021.

  • To find a location near you:
    • Visit schools.nyc.gov/summermeals.
    • Text “NYCFOOD” or “NYCCOMIDA” to 877-877 (text messaging and data rates may apply)
    • Call 311
  • Meals Hubs are open for children and families.
    • Breakfast and lunch are served Monday–Friday, 9am – 1pm.
    • There is no meal service on Monday, July 5th (Independence Day) and Tuesday, July 20th (Eid-ul-Adha)
  • You do not need to register, give documents, or show ID to receive a free breakfast or lunch.
  • All meals are Grab and Go. They cannot be eaten on site.
    • Vegetarian meals are available at all locations.
    • Kosher and Halal meals are available at select locations.
