Paid summer experiences for youth

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) | NYC Department of Youth & Community Development

1. How it Works

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) connects NYC youth 14 – 24 years old with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.

  • Because of COVID-19 pandemic, a new virtual program called Summer Bridge will take the place of SYEP this year.
  • Through Summer Bridge, youth ages 14–24 will have the chance to learn new skills, explore potential careers, and earn money.
  • Apply for Summer Bridge July 9 – 15, 2020.

2. Determine your eligibility

You may be eligible if you can answer yes to these questions.

  • Do you live in NYC?
  • Are you between 14 and 24 years old?

Take a short survey to see if you might be eligible for this or 30 other programs.
